A love letter to cinema
CinemaO is driven by a desire to reimagine the cinema experience and to explore how technology influences storytelling and world-building. It is conceived as a new piece of infrastructure for the audiovisual ecosystem - centered on community, shared space, and collective intelligence.Why it matters
Audiovisual sectors are evolving rapidly, shaped by new tools, AI, immersive media, and changing production workflows. CinemaO was designed to respond to these shifts by supporting audiovisual artists, freelancers, and entrepreneurs, while creating space for radical experimentation and innovation.It links this community to the resources they require by promoting international collaboration and exchange, through a network of partners and collaborators with extensive expertise in technology, production, and distribution.
The Space
The Foundation’s first venue in Milan combines a cinema with a working atelier. A custom-built architectural device brings under the same roof a flexible system designed to respond to the needs of the community, allowing multiple uses and configurations and hosting a structured programme of initiatives for creative development and public engagement.Grounded in openness, accessibility, and the circulation of resources and information, the space experiments with new formats of convening to foster creative and entrepreneurial innovation across moving-image media and practices.
