Ghosted
Cinema Of Spectral CosmologiesA film programme curated by Paula Veidenbauma

Ghosts are everywhere. Conventionally attached to abandoned houses and inherited properties, they also appear in less expected places: on dating apps, in underground garages, at construction sites, along riverbanks, in dreams and nightmares. The ghost is one of fiction’s most radical clichés. It emerges at moments of uncertainty and usually vanishes as quickly as it is seen. Yet ghosts tend to return. Their reappearance in a particular site, often described as haunting, disrupts linear understandings of time and troubles the boundaries between past and present, opening a space for spectral negotiation: was it truly there, or merely a hallucination before the eyes?
Ghosted engages with expanded notions of spectrality in moving image practice. The ghost is approached as a way of attending to and holding together fragments, residues and light ephemera. Rather than focusing on the ghost as a visible figure within the frame, the programme considers it as something that holds together that does not fully cohere, and that can also ghost, disappear without notice.

Compulsive Archive x CinemaO
FILMS AS ZINES is a screening series curated by Giulia Vallicelli, focusing on DIY cinema, riot grrrl publishing and queer circulation of moving images from the 1990s and 2000s.Across three evenings, the program brings together the low‑budget, offbeat and queer work of the Kuchar brothers, Sarah Jacobson and Lucy Thane (Cinenova).
Two guided visits to Compulsive Archive extend the experience into the world of zines, books and working materials, where underground cinema meets self‑published print culture.
